Marathon training plans

These plans are generalised schedules. As such, they are not for everyone. I don't believe in a 'one schedule fits all approach'. They are a broad generalisation of training that has worked for me (2.23 marathon runner) and others and has lead to considerable success. The schedules use a variety of training ideas that I have developed through my extensive experience of working in running and sports science.  I do not believe that you need to exhaust yourself with extensive work at marathon pace and having run over 14 marathons, and every one under 3 hours, I do believe that running above marathon pace and feeling relaxed often brings the best results. You can combine your training with our challenges as we have some awesome medals and awards that certainly help to keep people motivated.
